Uppu cheedai one of the snacks we make on Gokulashtami.
Ingredients
- Rice Flour.........................2 cups
- Urad Dhal Flour................3 tsp
- Butter...............................3 bsp
- Grated Coconut................3tbsp
- Asafoetida.........................1/2 tsp
- Sesame Seeds..................1tsp
- Salt to Taste
Method
- Mix all ingredients together. Add water and make a thick dough.
- Do not add more water.Cover the dough with a clean damp cloth.
- Take a very little dough using your palm roll into a small marbles.
- Heat oil and deep fry them.
- When the bubbles ease take them out.
- They should be crispy.
- You have to be careful when you make cheedai. Roll the cheedai lightly.
- If you use frozen coconut see that it is in room temperature.
- Roast the flour for 5 minutes.
- Keep the flame on a low to medium while deep frying.
